Dream Big or go home….

Do you have any dreams? Like big dreams? Like big dreams that scare you? Scare you so much that you don’t want to tell anyone? Cause once you do then it’s out there and that seems even scarier?

Oh, or is this just me?

Yeah, I’m a dreamer. A big dreamer.

Not a day goes by that HJ doesn’t walk through the door (or did when he didn’t live so far away) and in less than 10 minutes I’m saying “I have an idea!”

He’s learned to tolerate me and my dreams. He smiles and nods as I follow him around the house explaining my brilliant idea. Which most of the time we know will never end up happening.

Then today….I realized something.

My oldest is exactly like me in this way. She is a dreamer.

She follows me around explaining her ideas and inventions. Today she showed me a sketch of her dream house and a vehicle she is going to “make someday.”

She has ideas how to help people. She recently came up with a business name & product that gives part of it’s profit to either the children’s hospital or kids in Africa (she hasn’t decided exactly which one just yet).

I love her for it. Well, I love her anyway, but I really do love that her mind races with ideas like mine.

So today as my girls and I were in the basement making art, writing & crafting in our journals, I did what she did. I started drawing and writing down my big dreams. It kind of freaked me out. I really do have big ideas.

I’ve got big dreams for my little blog.

I’ve got big dreams for all of you, my awesome readers. I want to shower you all with love and goodness. I want to make this a place, a community, where you can laugh, and think, and share, and voice your opinion – even if it’s different than mine :). I want share my life, tell my story, and I want to listen to yours as well.

I’ve got dreams for you ladies who are enduring the medical training years. Hang in there lovelies!

I’ve got dreams for my family (besides making a home-cooked meal more than once twice a month- ha!).

I’ve been dreaming up big ideas for my friend Candice and for my sister-in-law, Krissie, who is getting ready to launch her site soon! (Stay tuned if you’re into clean eating and healthy food and stuff. Yeah, me neither…but I’m going to try to get better and try to get her to contribute some recipes on here.)

I’ve got dreams for causes that I am passionate about.

I’ve got big dreams for me too. Things I want to do. Opportunities I want try. Places I want to go. Goals I want to reach.

Now I know that all sounds pretty vague. But oh, I’ve got plans more specific to make those ideas come true. I’m just not quite brave enough to share them with you. Cause that really does scare me.

Hopefully soon, I can muster up the courage to share them with you. Cause dreaming big really does get me so excited!!!

So stay tuned my friends…

Dream on! Dream Big! You’re right to keep your dreams to yourself until you’re ready to birth them to the world.

    Keep Going!

I love that moment when you realize your kids have the same quirk you do…good for her and her big dreams and good for you for allowing yourself to revisit your dreams. Can’t wait to see what you share in 2013

  4. One of my biggest dreams, is to do an anti bleaching campaign in my husband’s former country. There are people there bleaching their skin to look whiter. I keep saying I’m going to do something, but sometimes I get scared because It seems like too big of a task. I also don’t know where I can get money for this cause. Money does help push some dreams a little faster.

I totally understand how you feel. Scared to start because it feels “too big” to tackle. And yes, money does push dreams faster…I think that’s where I get stuck too – wishing I had some cash to get things moving!
