Yesterday, I posted this picture on my Instagr.am with the caption “making truth cards for Brave Girls’ Club”
and a few people asked what Brave Girls Club was.
Well…. I’m not quite sure how to explain what it is, but this is what came to mind
I was introduced to BGC in March 2011 via Jeanne’s blog. I found it right when I was supposed to and needed it most.
It was founded by two sisters Melody Ross & Kathy Wilkins in Idaho. They are on a mission to speak truth and love to women around the world.
The picture below is from last year when I went to camp. I’m totally serious when I say… all these women are like my own person cheer squad. Never before in my life have I been surrounded by so much love and felt so safe. I love these ladies sooo much!!
And now, Melody & Brave Girls Club has partnered up with Full Circle Exchange to help women who have been victims of human trafficking. They want all Brave Girls over here (that’s you!) to make little truth cards to send all over the world to these women who are recovering and rebuilding their lives.
The truth cards are simple little words of encouragement and notes of love but so incredibly powerful.
Now, when you look at anything Melody creates, immediately you think… well, I can’t do that, I’m not as artsy or creative as she is.
But they have made it total idiot proof. No joke (and I don’t mean that to offend anyone). It seriously is so easy to do.
All you have to do is grab a few supplies,
And print up this gorgeous (free) card making kit you see below!
follow the directions, cut, mod podge (that’s like magic glue), and add paint if you want. See? Easy peasy.
Ok, people. I got brave and made you a little video to show you how easy these are to make… so please don’t laugh (too much). And please excuse my hunchback and how ridiculously low I was to the table…I was at my kids’ short art table sitting on a bathroom stool so I could fit in the picture since I had my phone taped to a toy mailbox propped up on a box to film myself. Yeah, I know…I was pretty impressed with the set-up myself.
Go ahead… Take a look… at least from the 56 second mark to the 4:00 minute mark.

update: Ok, can’t get the video to show-up but here is the youtube link if you are interested or want to see me :)
(I think I forgot to mention to make sure that you “seal” the card (both sides) with mod podge when you are done.)
Look at what you can create too! So simple! So easy!
here are some others I have done using those 3 super simple ways…
It’s not only fun, but I loved thinking about the women who are going to be receiving these as I made them. Seriously, just 30 minutes of your time will give these women encouragement, hope, and make them feel so loved.
Won’t you join me?

I know! I think it’s a fantastic idea. I remember making these for myself when I first found out about Brave Girls’ Club! But now, to make and send them to these women just makes me so happy!
